For 2018, the Dodge Durango lineup consists of five models: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and the new SRT performance model. Each has its distinctive personality and set of features. We're certain you'll find one that's perfect for you.
Changes for 2018
In addition to the high-performance SRT model, an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a new steering wheel with paddle shifters, and two new exterior colors. All models now come equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen and rearview camera as standard equipment.
The 2018 Dodge Durango is available with three engines, based on model. Canada's best-selling engine, the DOHC 3.6 L Pentastar V6 is standard equipment SXT, GT, and Citadel models. The Pentastar engine develops 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque in standard form, and 295 horsepower with dual exhaust. Standard in the R/T and available on the GT and Citadel is the 5.7 L HEMI V8, which is rated at 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Standard in the new SRT model is the same 6.4 L HEMI V8 installed in Charger and Challenger SRT models produces with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. All engines come exclusively with a smooth-shifting TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic.
Durango SXT
Base but not basic, the Durango SXT offers exterior features that include automatic halogen headlamps, projector fog lamps, and rear window wiper/washer/defroster as standard, along with 18" Satin Carbon aluminum wheels. On the inside check the seven passengers seating, with 50/50 split-folding third row seats and 60/40 split fold-and-tumble second row bench seat. Other interior amenities include power locks and windows, a tilt and telescope steering column with leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Uconnect 4 multimedia centre with seven-inch touchscreen with backup camera, six speakers, two USB ports and audio-in jack, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Durango GT
Stepping up to the Durango provides the opportunity to equip your Durango with the 5.7 L hemi V8. Other enhancements over the SXT include 20" Hyper Black aluminum wheels, dual exhaust, and power liftgate on the exterior. On the interior seating has been significantly upgraded. All seating surfaces are leather-faced with suede inserts. The driver seat now features power 12-way adjustment including four lumbar settings and memory, along with a front passenger seat with power 10-way adjustment. The front and second-row seats are heated as is the leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters.
Durango R/T
Upgrades to the Durango when you move to the R/T model include a two-speed on-demand transfer case, 20" low-gloss Granite Crystal wheels, heavy-duty brakes, and performance steering and sport suspension. On the inside look for Nappa leather-faced first and second row seats with perforated inserts, with the front seats ventilated. Handling infotainment and navigation is a Uconnect 4C NAV multimedia centre with 8.4-inch touchscreen, with an Alpine Premium Audio System with nine amplified speakers, subwoofer and a 506-watt amplifier. SiriusXM Guardian, SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Traffic Plus are available on a subscription-basis.
Durango Citadel
Take the R/T and dress it up for a night on the town. That's what the Durango Citadel is all about. With its bright front fascia, and sill moulding appliques, bright premium grille, and bright side rails roof rails with integrated crossbars, chrome exterior mirrors and door handles, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, along with platinum chrome interior accents, the Citadel will sparkle whether you're driving in the sun or valet-parking at night at a gleaming restaurant. Other upgrades include interior leather door panels, and a standard power sunroof.
Durango SRT
New 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is the fastest, most powerful and most capable seven-passenger SUV with its legendary 392 Hemi V8 that powers the Durango SRT from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The powerful engine enables best-in-class towing capacity of any three-row SUV of 3946 kg (8700 lbs). Other enhancements in the Durango SRT includes seven SRT drive modes (street, sport, track, snow, tow, valet, and eco), a performance-tuned AWD system, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, adaptive suspension dampers, Brembo six-piston high-performance brakes, and an SRT performance hood.
Safety and Security
The 2018 Dodge Durango offers consumers more than 60 available safety and security features, with seven standard airbags, including full length three row side curtain airbags, standard front seat mounted side thorax air bags, front row active head restraints, standard Trailer Sway Control and available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, and Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection. Optional on all but the base SXT trim is a suite of active safety features that includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is available as part of an available package.
