The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and the EVIP $14,000 Rebate
Posted on January 26, 2020
Please note that the Ontario government has cancelled the cap and trade program which funded the EHVIP Program. Only vehicles that were on dealer lots prior to the cutoff date qualify for the $14,000 rebate and North York and Caledon Chrysler no longer have any in stock.
At North York Chrysler, we work hard to offer our customers affordable, high-performance vehicles that are also environmentally friendly. A perfect example of this commitment to customer satisfaction and efficiency is the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. Our sales and service experts thought it would be the perfect time to tell you more about this fuel-efficient, family minivan, as well as the Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Incentive Program (EHVIP) formerly called EVIP, that can make ownership of a hybrid or all-electric vehicle easier for all Canadians.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid qualifies for the maximum $14,000 offered by the EHVIP. See below for more details on the program.
Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Since inventing the minivan, Chrysler has always been at the forefront of the minivan technology. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid continues this long tradition as the first hybrid-electric vehicle in its class. While it has many of the same benefits of its gas-only version, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is unique in many ways. The first and most obvious is under the hood. For the new 2017 model, as part of its dual-motor eFlite electrically variable transmission (EVT), this innovative minivan was equipped with a specially modified version of the upgraded 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 gas engine.
Named as one of Ward's 10 Best Engines for 2017 and again named as one of Ward's 10 Best Engines for 2018 this engine offers up to 260 horsepower (total system), an estimated electric driving range of up to 48 kilometres, up to 850 kilometres of total range, and an estimated 2.9 Le/100km (97 MPGe) in city driving*. The electric driving system is powered by a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack under the second-row floor and if you use the optional 240-volt (Level 2) charger, it can take as little as two hours to fully charge. We mention the location of the battery pack because its placement allows the Chrysler Pacifica to retain third-row Stow 'n Go seating and storage, while still having a powerful battery.
On top of all this efficiency, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which is made at Canada's award-winning Windsor Assembly Plant, is also packed with more than 100 of the latest safety, convenience, comfort, and hi-tech features you've come to expect from Chrysler. Available in premium and platinum trim levels, ten exterior colours, and up to 3,600 in towing power, this hybrid is built with dual-phase, high-strength, lightweight steel for amazing impact protection.
Other safety features include a full suite of advanced airbags, available 360° Surround View Camera, and FCW+ active braking. The 2017 and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid offer uncompromised functionality with its selection of Uconnect Systems, KeySense Technology, Electronic Vehicle Tracking System, and even a wireless charging pad.
Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Incentive Program (EHVIP)
As part of Ontario's new Climate Change Strategy, the EHVIP is a program that is aimed making hybrids and EV more affordable and improving our environment. The amount of financial support of this innovative incentive program is based on the vehicle's battery capacity, seating capacity and manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP).
The 16kWh battery pack and seating for up to seven people that comes with the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, means that it qualifies for the maximum $14,000 offered by the EHVIP.
When you combine this with the transferable warranties that come with the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, you are looking at significant savings.
