Ram 1500 Best Trim Level

Ram 1500 Best Trim Level

Given all the available configurations, optional equipment, and accessories not only is it possible to build the Ram 1500 that best meets your needs, but it could quite possibly be the only Ram 1500 with the same specifications in all of Canada. This is why Caledon Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is providing this overview, so let's take a closer look at what the 2019 Ram 1500 has to offer.

The Ram 1500 was named the 2018 Pickup Truck of the year by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada as well as a three-time winner of the Canadian Truck King Challenge. Contributing to that title, the Ram 1500 offers a number of mechanical and structural features, including its class-leading ride and handling.

Unlike many other trucks in the category that rely on stagecoach style leaf springs, the Ram 1500 is equipped with  a unique multilink coil spring rear suspension system as well as optional four-corner air suspension. Available in a long list of unique trim levels and available options, the Ram 1500 has a full-size pickup for everyone.

Engine Choices

The heart of any pickup is its engine, and Ram offers buyers a choice of three different powerplants. The 3.6 L Pentastar V6 engine is Canada's favourite, based on sales. The Pentastar V6 delivers fuel economy as efficient as 9.6L/100km* highway while producing 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque.

Optional is the legendary 5.7 L HEMI V8 engine with Variable Valve Timing that delivers fuel economy as efficient as 11.0L/100km* highway while developing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.

Also optional is the a class-exclusive 3.0 L EcoDiesel V6 engine delivering fuel economy as efficient as 8.0L/100km* highway, making it Canada's most fuel economy leader in pickup trucks. The EcoDiesel V6 produces 240 horsepower and an ample 420 lb-ft of torque.

In addition to a standard eight-speed automatic transmission other Ram 1500 components have also been improved to enhance fuel efficiency.  Accessory drives have been optimized to reduce parasitic loss, and advances in thermodynamics help to contribute to Canada's most fuel-efficient full-size pickup.

Towing capabilities vary by engine and equipment but your new Ram truck can be specified to tow a load of up to 4,826 kg.

Cab Choices

The Ram 1500 is available in three cab configurations and three bed configurations: Regular Cab 8-ft. bed, Regular Cab 6-ft. 4-in. bed, Quad Cab 6-ft. 4-in. bed, Crew Cab 5-ft. 7-in. bed, and Crew Cab with a 6-ft. 4-in. bed. Regardless of which cab you select, Ram offers a wide variety of standard storage solutions.

Model Choices

There are fourteen models of the Ram 1500 available: ST, SXT, SLT, Tradesman, HFE, Harvest Edition, Outdoorsman, Big Horn, Sport, Night Edition, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Laramie Limited, and Limited Tungsten. While we don't have time and space to go through every feature, we'll provide a few highlights to prime you for your visit to Caledon Chrysler where you can run through all models and options with a Ram truck expert.

The entry-level ST is surprisingly well-equipped, with air conditioning, cruise control, power door locks, four wheel anti-lock disc brakes, 17-inch wheels, power rack and pinion steering, five air bags, and electronic stability control. Headed down some gravel roads? Check out the Outdoorsman, where the fuel capacity is increased to up to 121 liters, and on the 4x4 version, and anti-spin differential and extra-heavy duty shocks are fitted to the rear axle. Front suspension and transfer case receive skid plates and tow hooks and fog lights are added.

If you prefer to keep your truck clean when you're not off road, the Rebel, available in Crew Cab 4x4, may be worth a look. Sure to make an impression on-road as well as off, it features 17-inch aluminum wheels and 33-inch Toyo all-terrain tires. Bilstein heavy-duty shock absorbers, black fender flares and black powder coated bumpers, Sport performance hood, power 10-way driver's seat, and a Uconnect 4C multimedia centre with 8.4-inch touchscreen.

If luxury is what you're after, then take a good, hard look at the Laramie Longhorn Crew Cab. The Laramie Longhorn features a hand-wrapped full-grain leather instrument panel and a unique Laramie Longhorn instrument cluster. Both the Natura Plus high-back bucket front seats, as well as the rear bench seat, are heated, as is the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Connectivity is through Uconnect 4C NAV multimedia centre with 8.4-inch touchscreen.  On the exterior is a unique two-tone paint, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, and a chrome billet grille with RAM proudly displayed in the center.

This is just a quick overview of some of the features of some of the models, which will be featured in the Canadian International Autoshow. The only way to really determine which Ram 1500 best meets you needs is to sit down with one of the Ram experts at Caledon Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and together go through a number of mechanical, appearance, safety and security,  and technology options to personalize your Ram 1500. So if you're in the Brampton, Mississauga, or Toronto areas drive in to Caledon Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Bolton and sit down with the Ram experts and spec out the Ram 1500 that you've always wanted.
