CarHub: Jeep City
Posted on June 29, 2021
Here at CarHub we often joke that we should rename the dealership Jeep City. Sure, we have a huge range of brands and styles of cars here at CarHub but we’re also proudly Jeep experts.
The Summer of the Jeep
This summer proves that we could rename the dealership to Jeep City beyond a doubt. We’re slated to have more Jeeps than ever gracing the CarHub lots in the hot months, including some uber-exciting newbies like the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and, hopefully, the Jeep Wrangler Magneto.
That’s an all-star lineup right there. And that’s not to mention all of the classic Wranglers on the way. Even if we didn’t rename the dealership as Jeep City we would have just as much reason to call ourselves Wrangler City.
Enter the Contender for the Title
But even with the incredible array of Jeeps and Jeep knowledge that we have on the CarHub lots, we do have one serious contender to our title as Jeep City: none other than the motor city itself, Detroit.
Last week, Detroit opened the doors on its first new car assembly plant since 1991 and it’s slated to be the birthplace of untold numbers of Jeeps. The $1.6 billion assembly complex is going to provide up to 5000 jobs within the Detroit area. The complex alone is 3 million square feet of automaking goodness. And we thought that our CarHub North York location was huge! They have us beaten on that one, we have to admit.
New Year, New Vision
The new Stellantis plant will be the starting point for the all-new Grand Cherokee L, which is a new three-seater version of the Jeep fan-favourite, the Grand Cherokee.
After a tough pandemic year that culminated in a chip shortage that stymied production, the automotive industry could use a win. The EV market is taking the world by storm but with Stellantis doubling down on a new production facility it feels like proof that the world still has a strong desire for a large vehicle that is up to any task. That’s the name of the game for the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and it’s comforting to know that with the new production facility up and running, we’re going to continue seeing the Jeep Grad Cherokee L for many years to come.
Sticking With CarHub
It turns out that we really like our name so don’t worry CarHub community, we aren’t going to change it to Jeep City any time soon. We’ll share the nickname with Detroit though because we both have an incredible amount of Jeeps. We’re content to let Detroit make them, we’ll just worry about providing them to you, our loyal customers.
