Posted on March 5, 2021
As Jeep’s compact crossover SUV, the Jeep Compass merges practicality with sophisticated design and a clean, streamlined aesthetic. Whether you want an adventurous vehicle that will accompany you on all your weekend escapes or a family-friendly weekday ride, the Compass offers something for just about every household. As a proud Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer, CarHub Automotive Group is excited to offer the brand new, sleek and shiny 2021 Jeep Compass. Here’s everything you should know about this versatile vehicle, before officially making an appointment with a Product Advisor to drive a Compass home today.
Performance, Engine and Towing Capacity:
You may have to drive slowly when you’re in that school zone picking up the kids, but thankfully, the Compass still offers plenty of performance and power for the weekend. It’s powered by a 2.4L Tigershark MultiAir 1-4 engine, which has a towing capacity of 2,000 lb and maximum horsepower of 180. Meanwhile, the maximum torque is 175 lb. The 6-speed automatic transmission is standard on the Sport 4x2, with the 9-speed transmission being standard on the Sport 4x4, North 4x4, Altitude 4x4, Trailhawk 4x4 and Limited 4x4. With major perks like four wheel drive in the low range, off-road tires, front bumpers that offer ground clearance and skid plates available on the Trailhawk trim level, this is certainly a powerful ride.
Fuel Economy:
According to Driving.ca, the 2021 Jeep Compass offers a fuel economy of 10.6L/100 km for city and 7.6 L/100 km for highway.
Tech Features:
What could be more convenient than a remote climate feature built into an ultra practical SUV crossover? We are loving this added tech feature, which promises to instantly warm up your vehicle with the help of a remote control. While you are still in your workplace or home, you can operate the remote from up to 91 metres away- making your dreaded early morning winter commute much more comfortable!
There is also an included driver info display with a 7-inch screen and the UConnect 4 multimedia system with a high definition touchscreen, available in either 7-inch or 8.4-inch screen sizes. All Compass models are also compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM and Wi-Fi.
Interior and Exterior:
Unlike your everyday kid hauler, the Jeep Compass comes with a modern, stylish design. This is evidenced through the dual pane panoramic sunroof, which operates with the push of a button. If those UV rays are getting to you, you also have the added benefit of a power sunshade.
Take a peek inside the interior of the Jeep Compass, and you’ll be greeted by plenty of room to get cozy. The inside of the Compass features spacious seating, with a 12-way power driver’s seat and a function for 4-way power lumbar adjustment. The front seats are heated, as is the steering wheel. Looking to haul all your gear up north for a family weekend away? You’re in luck, as the Compass comes equipped with ample storage space. With 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks, an adjustable cargo floor (that can be accommodated to three different levels) and a power liftgate, storing your goods should be a breeze.
Safety:
Making it a secure ride for transporting your family, the Compass is equipped with over 65 safety features. Some of these include adaptive cruise control, which helps to keep a safe distance between you and fellow cars on the roads. Monitor your acceleration carefully with All-Speed Traction Control, stabilize yourself with Anti-Lock Braking or navigate hilly terrain with Hill Start Assist. Additionally, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear-Cross Path Detection are both offered on the Limited and Trailhawk trim levels.
Trims:
The Compass offers a variety of trim levels, from the bare necessities of the Sport to the luxury of the high end Trailhawk Elite. If you are not sure what exactly does car trim mean, then check out our blog on car trim explanation. Keeping all these trim levels in mind, we have curated our guide to everything you should know about the varying Jeep Compass models.
1. Sport:
As the basic trim level, the Sport comes equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. The heated front seats make for a comfortable ride, while the UConnect multimedia system offers a standard 7-inch touchscreen.
2. North:
Once you jump into the 2021 Jeep Compass North, you’ll notice a few enhancements which are not available on the Sport. The engine is boosted with a nine-speed automatic, whereas entering your vehicle becomes easier and more tech-savvy thanks to the Keyless Enter ‘n Go system with Proximity Entry. You also have the added comfort of a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus remote start for getting into drive that much easier.
3. Upland:
The Upland is more luxurious than the more standard North and Sport trim levels, with its 17-inch aluminum wheels that are equipped with all-season tires. It’s also a pretty sight on the outside, with its black gloss exterior accents and matte black tow hooks. Practically speaking, the Upland suspension and the skid plate on the front suspension are added features designed for a smooth driving experience.
4. 80th Anniversary Edition:
Of course, 2021 marks the big 80th anniversary for the Jeep brand, and this long awaited milestone has seen every Jeep vehicle release a custom, birthday trim level. The Compass is certainly no exception to this rule, as it boasts birthday details with its 80th anniversary badging. 2021 Jeep Compass 80th Anniversary Edition is boosted with its powerful 19-inch granite crystal aluminum wheels, this sweet ride will have you feeling like every day is your birthday! We are also liking the 8.4 inch touchscreen (larger than the standard 7 inches) on the UConnect system, plus the additional entertainment features. These specs include GPS Navigation, SiriusXM for both Guardian and Traffic Plus and Travel Link, which will help you navigate the streets with awareness of your surroundings and weather conditions.
5. Trailhawk:
The 2021 Jeep Compass Trailhawk truly takes adventure to the next level- and to the next trim level. It includes the Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system, which is boosted with the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System and is designed to tackle tough terrain with ease. While the other Compass models include the standard Jeep Active Drive system, this Active Drive Low system is developed for the rugged adventurer at heart. If you want even more fun off-road and you’re a fan of big rocks and bigger challenges, this one may be for you. Keeping the spirit of adventure in mind, the Trailhawk is also built with off-road suspension. There are also red tow hooks on the Trailhawk, with two in the front and 1 in the back of the vehicle. Add in those vegan leather seats, and you have one sleek and shiny ride.
6. Altitude:
Ready for high altitude? You bet you are, with the Altitude trim level of the Jeep Compass! This trim level comes with 18-inch aluminum wheels. Meanwhile, the interior features black leather-faced seats, an 8-4 inch touchscreen and a 7-inch driver info display.
7. Limited:
The Limited is truly premium, with its 18-inch grey polished aluminum wheels. It is also boosted with premium safety features, like Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection.
8. Trailhawk Elite:
As the highest trim level of the Jeep Cherokee, the Trailhawk Elite is a beautiful sight. It is loaded with Bi-Xenon HID headlamps and LED Taillamps, to help you better illuminate your drive home. Meanwhile, the power liftgate simplifies the process by allowing you to electronically open and close the back of the vehicle.
