2021 Jeep Cherokee- Everything You Should Know

2021 Jeep Cherokee

As a practical and efficient compact SUV offering from the Jeep brand, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee is ideal for transporting your family, commuting to work or embarking on weekend road trips. As a proud Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Fiat dealer, we carry the new 2021 Jeep Cherokee at CarHub Auto Group. If you are looking to drive home in the new Cherokee this winter (which is great for hauling everything from the kids to your groceries), we’ve rounded up a list of features and functions that you should know about.

Exterior and Interior:

While you may think of an SUV as merely an old school kid hauler designed exclusively for functionality, the Jeep Cherokee design looks sleek and cool with its curved body, 7-slot grille and LED headlamps.

Meanwhile, the cargo space is roomy enough to store all your earthly belongings, and maybe some extra gear for that upcoming camping trip. Conveniently, the rear seats of the Jeep Cherokee can be folded, offering 1,634 L (or 57.5 cu ft) of storage space.

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee also comes with tech features that include a standard 7-inch touchscreen UConnect infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The display is customizable, with a button on the steering wheel which will display everything from temperature to tire pressure to fuel level.

Engine and Performance:

There are three engine options available for Jeep Cherokee models, which include the fully loaded 2.4 L Tigershark MultiAir engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Other than this beast, the 2021 Cherokee also comes with the option of a 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine, also equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The V6 engine is standard on the Altitude, Trailhawk and Limited trim levels, and is also available on the Sport and the North. Meanwhile, the 2.0L Turbo engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission is available on Altitude and Limited. The Cherokee is also a lighter vehicle, which results in better gas consumption when compared to other Jeep vehicles. The vehicle is also equipped with rear wheel drive, with 60 to the back and 40 to the front.

Fuel Economy:

According to Car Connection, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee 4WD offers a fuel economy of 19 mpg (8.07 kilometres per litre) for the city and 26 mpg (11.05 kilometres per litre) for highway.

Safety:

As a renowned family vehicle, the Jeep Cherokee is equipped with a number of safety features, including adaptive cruise control. Thankfully, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking will alert you if you are getting too close to other cars on the road, and collisions can be safely avoided as a result. Meanwhile, the LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist will keep you safely in your lane and let you know if you start to drift away.

Off-Road Capability:

If you want to take your Jeep Cherokee off-road, you’re in luck. This SUV is designed for safe off-road adventures, suitable for a multitude of terrain conditions. The off-road capability allows you to explore with the Auto, Sport or Sand/Mud drive modes, customized for those particular driving conditions. Meanwhile, the Trailhawk trim level comes with Rock mode, designed to help you navigate rocky terrain with style. Jeep Cherokee is best known for its powerful off-road capability, particularly on the 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk trim level, which is especially developed for rough terrain.

Towing Capacity:

Planning to tow a camper van as you drive the whole family up north for a long weekend? You’re in luck, as the 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine offers a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 lb, along with torque up to 239 lb‑ft.

Trims:

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee comes with a variety of trim levels, ranging from the basic Sport to the advanced and elite High Altitude. If you are not sure what exactly does car trim mean, then check out our blog on car trim explanation. We’ve curated a roundup of all the trim levels with more details about the specific features for each one.

1. Sport:

Although it may be the base model for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee, the Sport lives up its name as a trim level that is built for play. The UConnect system with a 7-inch touchscreen will help you keep the kids entertained on long drives, while the compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto makes for some pumpin’ playlists while on the road. Meanwhile, the heated front seats are ideal for a Canadian winter, with LED headlamps and taillamps to help you illuminate your way home.

2. North:

As the second trim level of the Cherokee, the North offers a few features which the more basic Sport does not. With the North, you can keep your hands warm with the heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also brings forward convenient, high-tech features like a remote start system. Equipped with the Jeep Active Drive 1 4x4 system and LED Fog Lamps, it also ensures that you have a powerful and safely lit driving experience

3. 80th Anniversary Edition:

With this year marking the 80th Anniversary of Jeep, the brand has unveiled 2021 Jeep Cherokee 80th Anniversary Edition models of its vehicles. The birthday trim level of the Cherokee comes with special 80th Anniversary badging, and keeps the celebratory vibes going strong with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Meanwhile, the inside features chic and comfortable leather seats and a UConnect system with an 8.4 inch touchscreen.

4. Altitude:

The Altitude lives up to its moniker, taking the Jeep energy to new heights. On the outside, it is adorned with gloss black exterior accents and badging. Take a peek inside and you’ll be greeted by leather-faced seats and a UConnect infotainment system with an 8.4 inch touchscreen and navigation.

5. Trailhawk:

As a higher end trim level, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk brings forward plenty of power with Jeep Active Drive Lock 4x4 System. You’ll thankfully navigate the roads safely with Blind-Spot Monitoring (which also features Rear Cross Path Detection). Thanks to skid plates that are located on the transmission, fuel tank, underbody and front suspension, you’ll also avoid unwanted damage to the underside of your Trailhawk. As well, you’ve got vegan leather seats in the Trailhawk, for a smooth and sleek look.

6. Limited:

The Limited is anything but limited, as a trim level which introduces luxury to the Jeep Cherokee. With this trim, you can expect leather seats as part of the interiors. Meanwhile, the more practical features include Blind Spot Monitoring and Park-Sense Rear Park Assist System.

7. Trailhawk Elite:

As a premium trim level, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite brings us sophistication with nappa leather-faced seating and ventilated front seats for the ultimate in comfort. It’s also loaded with a security alarm, keeping your safety in check at all times, and contains a hands-free power liftgate.

8. High Altitude:

The High Altitude is the highest Cherokee trim level that is offered. If you select a High Altitude, you’ll drive away with 19-inch granite crystal aluminum wheels and granite crystal exterior accents. With an Alpine premium audio system, you’ll be sure to enjoy your favourite tunes as you cruise away in your new Cherokee.
